凿壁偷光
匡衡勤奋好学，但家中没有蜡烛照明。邻家有蜡烛，但光亮照不到他家，匡衡就把墙壁凿了一个洞引来邻家的光亮，让光亮照在书上来读。
同乡有个大户人家叫文不识，是个有钱的人，家中有很多书。匡衡就到他家去做雇工，又不要报酬。主人感到很奇怪，问他为什么这样，他说：“我希望能得到你家的书，通读一遍。”主人听了，深为感叹，就把书借给他读。于是匡衡成了有学问的人。
착벽투광
서한 시대 광형은 가난했지만 공부를 무척 좋아했다. 밤에 등불을 결 수 없을 정도로 가난했는데, 이에 광형은 이웃집 벽을 뚫고 그 불빛을 빌려 독서했다. 같은 지방에 문부식이라는 부자가 있었다.집에 수많은 책을 가지고 있었다. 광형은 보수를 따지지 않고 머슴으로 문부식 집에 들어갔다. 집주인이 궁금해서 광형에게 왜 이렇게 하는지 물어봤다. 광형은 책을 읽으려고 말했다. 집주인은 광형의 답을 듣은 후에 매우 감동하여 책을 다 빌려 줬다. 그리하여 광형은 학식이 있는 사람을 되었다.
Authentic wall to steal light

鑿壁偸光
前漢にいた匡衡は勉強家であったが、貧しくて灯火の油を買うことができなかった。隣家は灯火があるけれど、なかなか光がここに届かなかった。すると、匡衡は壁に穴を開け、隣家の明かりを盗んで勉学に励んでした。
町で文不識というお金持ちがあった。家で沢山の本が持っていた。匡衡は報酬を要らずに彼の家に働きをしてきた。文不識は不思議に思って、どうしてそんなことをしたのかと尋ねた。匡衡は「あなたの本を全部読んでみたいだけです」と言いた。文不識はそれを聞いて感心し、本を貸して読んでやった。そこで匡衡は学問のある人間になった。
